What is a BIP39 Mnemonic Seed Phrase?
BIP39 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 39) defines a protocol for generating a mnemonic sentence — a group of easy-to-remember words — to write down as a backup for cryptocurrency wallets. This phrase is then converted into a binary seed, which is used to derive all public/private keys using hierarchical deterministic wallets (BIP44).
